Forty-eight percent (48%) of voters now give the President poor marks for handling the economy.That’s the highest negative rating yet recorded. Seventy-percent (70%) of Republicans give the President poor marks in this area along with 54% of unaffiliated voters. Overall, just 36% voters say he’s doing a good or an excellent job on economic matters. Sixty-eight percent (68%) of Democrats hold that view. When it comes to national security matters, 39% say he’s doing a good or an excellent job while 38% say poor. Thirty-one percent (31%) give the government good or excellent marks for its response to the Christmas Day bombing attempt.
